The diagram on the left shows a generalised Common Model for Shipments of Goods and  
Import/Export operations.
Each Shipment can be an Import into Switzerland, an Export out or In Transit through Switzerland.


We use the Common Data Model to define the Mapping Specifications and transform 
the data to be compatible with the Data Warehouse.
This Common Data Model also provides a very useful foundation for communication between 
Users and DWH designers
